I’m going on another brief hiatus on Thursday, this time for reasons more fun than moving! I’m visiting two of  my best friends in San Francisco for 5 days. In the meantime here are some news bits to hold you over.

  • Saks Fifth Avenue is giving away free goodie bags loaded with samples and special offers when you make a $75 beauty purchase as part of beauty week now until March 5th.
  • The Marigny Theatre & Allways Lounge is once again hosting a nutria fur fashion show. Nutria-palooza! II: Righteous Fur Fashion Show takes place March 6th at 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. 
  • The 1st of the month Freret Market will be on March 6th from noon to 5:00pm. As always local artists, jewelers, and clothing designers will be hawking their wares.

New Orleans Surf Shop recently changed their name to Local Threads. The shop now features t-shirts designed by the owners and is also taking men’s clothes on consignment. 




Friday, February 26th at 10pm enjoy $5 satsuma basil martinis at La Thai while taking in a trunk show from Branch Out  as part of their SiP series.




On the other hand is offering 90% off their winter merchandise.




Bridge House is sponsoring a recycled fashion show Friday, Feb. 26th at 8:00pm at the Howlin’ Wolf. Expect food from 17 New Orleans restaurants, a raffle, and a VIP pre-party one hour before the show.




Don’t forget about the InExchange fashion show also on Friday, February 26th  and the Alegria fashion show benefiting the LASPCA on Sunday, Feb 28th.

Held at the Allways Lounge this event is designed to create awareness of how much damage these critters do to our coastline. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Barataria-Terrebonne Estuary Foundation’s coastal restoration efforts.
